The Mountain View High School student leadership team partnered with the Make-A-Wish Foundation to help send Kaleb, an 8-year-old with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, to Disney World! To reach the school’s goal of $10,000, the group worked with local restaurant fundraisers for several nights, hosted events at the school such as Mr./Ms. MVHS and a volleyball tournament, and also got small donations from local businesses for a raffle drawing. All of these events led up to the school’s Sadie Hawkins Dance.
After all of the fundraising, the MVHS team entered the last day $1,100 short of their goal. A combination of staff, parents and students rallied together and made up the difference. The group “pied” teachers in the face and hit their goal of raising $10,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation! MVHS staff member Ryan Barron told the students that they could shave his head if the goal was reached. Here are some photos from the school’s assembly!
