Big Thompson’s 3rd and 4th grade classes attended a field trip to Rocky Mountain National Park. The weather was absolutely gorgeous and volunteer rangers were incredibly knowledgeable. We are so fortunate to have RMNP as our backyard. Learned how to take the temperature of the soil and the speed of the wind. Also, found an elk shed and scat on our hike. We found bones scattered in the area too. Lastly, we were able to learn about different trees in the area by their pine needles, etc.
